Marjorie Hutsell

Marjorie Hutsell started her career in the environmental regulations realm after studying Environmental Systems and Earth Science at the University of CA, San Diego and Scripps Institute of Oceanography. Marjorie taught high school biology and earth science in San Diego before moving to Oregon in 2012.

During a career break for children, Marjorie further developed her hobby and passion for gardening and plants into a small consulting business focused on helping the DIY’er to convert lawns into drought tolerant, pollinator supporting gardens. Marjorie’s favorite west coast native plant is manzanita because of its beautifully twisted, peeling, red branches and winter blooms.

In her spare time Marjorie enjoys reading, gardening, volunteering, and sewing when not busy with two school age children and spouse.
